Pyotr Mstislavets is known as a printing pioneer, is considered a follower of the printing pioneers of Pole Francysk Skaryna and Russian Ivan Fedorov. He worked with Ivan Fedorov in Moscow on the printing of the first book, The Apostle, and then they worked together on The Clockworker.
For political reasons, the printers moved to Zabludov, where their work was already facilitated by the authorities of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The monument to Peter Mstislavets was erected in order to perpetuate his contribution to the development of Belarusian culture.
